The New Age of Reason--A Mission Statement

Independence is my happiness, and I view things as they are, without regard to place or person; my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.--Thomas Paine, a Radical and a Credit to Mankind

This blog exists with the hope that someone, anyone, will read this and be inspired to act. Every word typed, every article written, and every issue covered is meant for the benefit of the general public. The articles that will be written will be unbashedly libertarian-socialist in their nature, yet they will be dedicated to the objective truth as well. There will be an active hand working to eliminate any sort of bias based on nationality, religion, race, etc. and I hope comments will assist in this. With that being said I have three simple (and lofty) goals:

1. Restablish liberalism (the broad definition) as a guiding principle for people everywhere.
2. Act as a truly fair source of information that will research issues rather than rely on rhetoric.
3. Follow the two-fold principle of honor: Strive for good, do no evil.

We are a selfish, apathetic, superstitious, intolerant, and ignorant generation that needs to learn to appreciate something other than ourselves and the basest of things. No one should be complacent when he sees people his age being spoon fed what they want to hear instead of the truth. I am tired of Intelligent Design, the Christian Right, the Death Penalty, Arms Without Cause, Federal Censorship, Rising Nationalism, and the whole ship load of idiotic ideas that seem to be plaguing this country and others. However, it wasn't always like this. There was a time when people respected good ideas even if it came from an opposing view point. I just hope to stumble across such good ideas and deliver them to you so you may make your own decisions.
